A tragic accident has happened in the Yucatan Peninsula located in Mexico. A tour bus carrying passengers from multiple cruise ships including royal Caribbean. According to officials "The bus was carrying 31 people, including tourists from the United States, Italy, Brazil and Sweden, in the state of Quintana Roo, according to Public Security of Quintana Roo" (Grinberg 2). The diction the author uses in this passage to portray the accident is formal in order to really explain to the reader the events. The article includes first hand accounts from officials that have spoken about the accident appealing to ethos. Among the injured there were "27 cruise guests from two Royal Caribbean ships, Celebrity Equinox and Serenade of the Seas"(Grinberg 5). The tone the author uses in the article is an informative tone because the word choice chosen allows the reader to understand what really happened. In the article pictures depict the end events of the bus flipped over and in pieces. It was said that immediate attention was given to all the passengers that needed it. The authors motive for writing this is to inform the people of the world about a tragedy that involves tourist from many countries. The authors goal is to portray all the events that happened with detail of the accident.
